Press the button to choose an image file to display or,
usually on a mobile device, to take a photograph to use as
a musical image.
The image needs to be a type that your browser and platform
support – usually .png or .jpg or .jpeg, or .webp.
Recent Apple platforms and Windows 10 and after also
support .heif files.
Safari still supports .tiff files. For other
browsers, save your image to .png or .heif.
That will produce a smaller file without loss of image
detail.
.pdf files can contain images, but they are
actually document files. Browsers do not support them for
images.
When the full-sized image appears, move the mouse over it
or, for a touch screen, drag your finger on it. You can
drag up to ten fingers, as many as your touch screen supports.
If you don't hear anything, make sure that you computer
audio is on, that the volume is not turned down, that you
don't have earbuds plugged in but not in your ears.
The sound should stop when you leave the window.
But if you move the mouse onto an overlapping window,
it may not. If you want to definitely stop audio,
return to this menu ("Select New Image" button) or leave
the page entirely.
The settings (on the right after you select a picture)
are
described here.
By all means play around with them.
For now, there is no way so save your settings, so you
should write down any that you want to be use again.
If you think they are better than the initial settings,
please email them to me.
If you want to go back to the initial settings, press
the "Set Defaults" button.
